Microsoft’s Xbox One has been unfairly judged according to Fable creator, Peter Molyneux.  Following a reveal that saw a fair amount of consumer backlash, Microsoft had very little option to do anything but change their policies for the new console.

Microsoft’s policies were long-reaching and long-thinking

According to Molyneux, “It’s quite unfair,” the legendary developer told Tech Radar.  “I know they were only doing things because they thought they were long-reaching and long-thinking.”

“Microsoft did the reversal and we should have all turned round and said ‘fantastic, you’ve really listened to what we’ve said.’  But you have to over-correct to get back online.”  This over correction has been dubbed as the “Xbox 180”, an unprecedented shift in policies for the new console.  Moves that have caused both confusion and hatred for the Xbox One.

Molyneux is just one of a few developers who have been calling consumer response to the Xbox One ‘unfair’.  Just days ago, John Carmack echoed similar sentiments about the consumer response to the Xbox One online policies.  The real question is, will consumers realize they are being unfair?  Probably not.
