While a remaster of Bulletstorm is certainly something that would be cool to see, the fact that it will be adding in none other than Duke Nukem himself has definitely made it more interesting. Developer People Can Fly and Gearbox Publishing apparently think so too, as they have released a new trailer that features 9 minutes of Duke Nukem gameplay.
You can check out the gameplay trailer for yourself at the bottom of this post, which is definitely recommended. The trailer shows plenty of great Duke Nukem dialogue that fans of the character and series will love, as well as some action-packed gunplay that’s looking really good so far. It at least looks like Duke will have a better time here than he did in Duke Nukem Forever, though that isn’t exactly saying much.
The game is set to be a big improvement over the original game with or without Duke, however, with several enhancements in the can. “Updated with hi-res textures, increased polygon counts, sterling audio, smoother framerates, and running in up to 4K resolution on PC and PS4 Pro, this upgraded version of the critically-acclaimed shooter comes with all of the previously-released DLC along with brand-new content. In addition to six new maps for the score-based Echo Mode, players will enjoy the new Overkill Mode, which enables all weapons and Skillshots from the get-go once the initial campaign has been completed.”
Duke himself is currently a pre-order bonus for the game, and will change things up from how the game is typically played. “Featuring a fully rerecorded script and brand-new lines from the original voice of Duke, this feature will replace main character Grayson Hunt with The King himself and provide players with a whole new butt-kicking perspective on the cult-classic shooter.”
Bulletstorm: Full Clip Edition will launch for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC on April 7th.
