There are some games that just immediately stand out from the crowd from day one and Studio MDHR’s Cuphead has been one of those since it was first announced. We’ve been waiting for the game for awhile now, but now it has been revealed that the game’s release date has been pushed back to mid-2017.
Cuphead is one of the most unique looking games in years, as it utilizes a 1930s cartoon style to near perfection. Originally set to be just a boss rush mode type of game, Cuphead was originally pushed back to turn it into a full fledged platforming style game with levels between the different bosses, but it appears they are not quite ready yet.
According to the official Studio MDHR blog, Cuphead has officially been pushed back to sometime mid-2017. They said that they looked at ways to reduce the scope of the game throughout this year to make a 2016 release date, but “in order to ship with our vision intact,” they have had to delay the game.
This is definitely the right decision so that they can put out the best game possible, rather than them cutting corners or removing content just to make the original 2016 estimated release date.
Look for Cuphead to arrive for Xbox One and PC sometime in mid-2017.
