Bethesda has officially kicked off The Elder Scrolls Online’s free play weekend today, with the game being playable entirely free on PlayStation 4 and PC. You may be wondering why they would be calling it a free play weekend when it’s only Wednesday, but they now refer to it as an extended weekend.
The free play weekend goes live at different times depending on what platform you’re playing on, with the PS4 version starting at 12:01 AM ET and the PC version starting at 1:00 PM ET. Xbox One players have unfortunately been left out of the party this time, though Bethesda claims that they will be sharing details on a free play weekend for them soon.
It’s also worth noting that the game does not require a PlayStation Plus subscription for PS4 players, though if the event does happen on Xbox One you will need an Xbox Live Gold subscription. The free play weekend will come to an end on November 20th.
As for what you’ll have access to during this free weekend, the contents are the following:
- Access to the full The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited base game
- 500 Crowns to spend in the Crown Store on fun costumes, unique pets, helpful scrolls, and more
- Any characters created, Crown Packs purchased, or Crown Store items bought, as well as any progress made during the free play weekend, will carry over if the player purchases the game
