During its most recent financial report, Square Enix had a look at major video games left to come out in the current fiscal year. It appears the likes of Final Fantasy 7 Remake and Kingdom Hearts 3 won’t be coming out anytime soon as expected.
As noted by VideoGamer, Square Enix posted a picture of the major titles that will be out between now and the end of March 31st, 2017. The only games included are Final Fantasy XV, Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, Rise of the Tomb Raider PS4, World of Final Fantasy, Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue and Japanese exclusives SaGA SCARLET GRAVE and Dragon Quest Heroes 2.
Judging by this schedule, it’s possible we may not see Kingdom Hearts 3 and Final Fantasy 7 Remake until late 2017 at the earliest. Square Enix usually has a history of announcing games very early in development and making fans wait for many years to actually play them.
What VideoGamer also found out is that there was no sign of NieR: Automata as well. NieR: Automata was supposed to be coming out in 2016, although Square Enix has not given us too many updates on its development lately. It’s possible the game could have been delayed until 2017.
Final Fantasy 7 Remake will be released in parts, so it will be an even longer wait for that game to be complete. As for Kingdom Hearts 3 and NieR: Automata, hopefully their developments don’t last as long as Final Fantasy 15…
