It has been a long time since we have seen any new gameplay footage for Final Fantasy 7 Remake. Tetsuya Nomura has now briefly spoke about the combat system.
In a new interview with Dengeki Magazine (via NovaCrystallis), Nomura said we won’t hear any big information about Final Fantasy 7 Remake until all of Square Enix’s big releases are out of the way.
This might mean we won’t hear anything until next year. Later this month sees the release of World of Final Fantasy and then we have Final Fantasy 15 out on November 29th.
Here’s what he said about the combat: “The battle system in Final Fantasy VII Remake is also vastly different, so I think we need to communicate very clearly just how exactly battles will work. We’re currently in the middle of elevating various aspects up to finished quality”
Nomura says the game will have lots of action, although he wants to make sure long-time fans are also satisfied. The combat system could have elements that featured in the old game. We’ll just have to wait and see for more.
Hopefully big news does come our way in 2017. Next year marks the 20th anniversary since the original game came out back in 1997 for the PSOne.
