Despite a number of Final Fantasy games being released on PC, it sounds like the upcoming Final Fantasy XV will stay as a console exclusive only.
As reported by Gamepur, the game’s director, Hajime Tabata, made it quite clear that they have not planned for a PC version of Final Fantasy XV yet.
Speaking at the Comic Fiesta event that took place earlier this month, Tabata said Square Enix has never planned for a PC version of the game. He later addressed that if a proper PC version is to be made, “then many changes have to be made and a lot of things have to be reconsidered before such a move can be made”
Square Enix has been very kind to the PC platform in recent months. It recently ported over the entire Final Fantasy XIII trilogy as well as Final Fantasy VI. However, Square Enix is just planning to release Final Fantasy XV on PS4 and Xbox One only. If other platforms are considered, they won’t be coming out anytime soon.
As for the PS4 and Xbox One version of Final Fantasy XV, it’s expected to come out sometime in 2016. Square Enix will tell us the exact release date during an event in March.
