Scott Games seems to have announced Five Nights at Freddy’s 4: The Final Chapter via a splash page on the front of their website. The image shows the titular character, along with the tagline, and a release date of October 31st, 2015. The Five Nights at Freddy’s series has been a favorite of horror fans, jump scare aficionados, and screaming Youtube celebrities for some time. The games have always had surprise announcements, usually shortly before launch. This reveal comes a bit earlier than previous ones, and looks to give developer Scott Cawthon more time than usual to get the game polished up.
Five Nights at Freddy’s 1, 2, and 3 were released on August 8 2014, November 10th 2014, and March 2nd 2015 respectively. The short development time was possible thanks to the simplistic nature of the series’ gameplay. As the series progressed fans picked up on a lot of subtle and hidden storytelling going on behind the scenes of the game. While the last game was previously said to be the last in the series, it seems that some more is left for gamers to enjoy. Of course, this could have something to do with the recent announcement of a film adaptation. Whether Five Nights at Freddy’s 4 will tie into that property or not should become clear as the game gets closer to its release on October 31st, 2015.
