It wasn’t too long ago that Sony sadly shut down Evolution Studios. Thankfully several staff members were snapped up by Codemasters and a new game is already going to be in production very soon.

Developer Paul Rustchynsky confirmed to a fan via Twitter that he and the team will be starting work on a new IP very soon. He said: “We’re only going to start work on it at the end of the month, so it’s going to be a while before we announce anything.

However as Rustchynsky stated, it will be a long time until we know what the game actually is. Going by Evolution Studios’ history, it’s likely the new game will be a racing title of some sort. Not to mention their publisher, Codemasters, focuses on racing games as well.

Evolution Studios developed the World Rally Championship games before working on the Motorstorm series. The developer then worked on Driveclub before getting shut down by Sony last month. It appears Driveclub didn’t perform as well as Sony hoped for.

It’s likely the new game they are working on will be multiplatform. The studio had been PlayStation exclusive since their inception over a decade ago.
