Gears of War 4 is shaping up to be a fully featured game as a recent screenshot from the beta shows that LAN and Training Grounds should be included in the full game.

Ryan McCaffrey from IGN tweeted out a photo from the Gears of War 4 beta showing that the main menu has “LAN” and “Training Grounds. McCaffrey has since deleted his tweet, but the photo can still be seen via WCCFTech.

Training Grounds was a mode that was originally featured in Gears of War 2 and it allowed gamers to get to grips with the game before jumping online against real human players. It’s great to see that The Coalition is bringing this back for the fourth game.

The Coalition’s Rod Fergusson also confirmed via Twitter that the game will ship with LAN support. However, Fergusson didn’t specify if you still need to be connected to Xbox LIVE by using the LAN feature. In the recently released Ultimate Edition, you still needed to be on Xbox LIVE to use LAN.

This comes as good news for gamers considering lots of other games don’t support LAN or multiplayer bots of any kind. Not to mention the new game also supports split-screen gaming which is another thing that is sadly rare these days.
