Gwent: The Witcher Card Game may not have been a massive, AAA bombshell, but it was one of the big announcements at E3 2016. The game is a full blown release of the mini-game from The Witcher 3, which became massively popular following that title’s release. When Gwent was first announced it also was given a release date for the closed beta, putting it at some time in September. However that has been delayed by CD Projekt Red, pushing it back to October 25th.
“Unfortunately, we feel we need some extra time with the game before we hand it off to you for testing,” reads the announcement from the Gwent team. “We know we can make a first impression only once, and want to be sure everything is ready before we blast off. Delivering a good game is more important to us than keeping a deadline. Still, that doesn’t mean we don’t realize that delays can be disappointing, and we apologize for making you wait. The Closed Beta will now begin on October 25th.”
Currently you can still register to possibly be a part of the Gwent closed beta right here. The game will be free-to-play upon final release, which will be available on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
