Homefront: The Revolution has come a long way since it launched in a messy state earlier this year, with several patches being released that have improved the experience. The developers will be allowing everyone to check the game out for free on Steam this weekend as part of the Steam Free Weekend promotion, with the whole game being playable for free from 10 AM PST on September 8th to 1 PM PST on September 11th.
Deep Silver said that “The entire game will be unlocked and available to sample, including the vast 30-hour single player campaign and full access to Resistance Mode, Homefront’s online co-operative experience, together with the new Missions released since launch.”
They go on to say that “The ‘Performance Patch’ launched earlier this month on console and PC, providing a significant boost to frame rates and overall performance thanks to a focus on GPU, lighting and particle optimizations, and checkpoint save and enemy spawning optimizations, and two new free Resistance Mode missions.”
Of course, if you play the game during this free period and decide you want to buy the game, it will be on sale during this time. The game will be 40% off, bringing the current price of $39.99 down to $23.99.
