Is Kingdom Hearts 3 Going To Be A No Show At E3 2016?

Square Enix got ahead of the E3 game yesterday with the reveal of the latest trailer for Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8, but the game that fans are really waiting for is Kingdom Hearts 3. After being officially unveiled at E3 a few years ago, we were hoping we’d get even more next week, but it’s looking like that might not be the case.

The new trailer for Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 looked great with plenty of footage of the game in action and even a much awaited for release date announcement. However, at the very tail end of the trailer, there is a very minor tease for Kingdom Hearts 3.

The logo for Kingdom Hearts 3 pops up along along with the text below it that says “Upcoming announcements this winter,” which has made us wonder if the game will be skipping E3 entirely.

We have been hoping that we’d at least get some new footage at E3 with perhaps a new world reveal, but this text on the 2.8 trailer seems to say otherwise.

My hope is that this just means that we’ll be getting more announcements this winter, perhaps in an event similar to what Final Fantasy XV got earlier this year, while still getting something new at E3 next week as well. At this point, we won’t have to wait much longer to find out either way.
