Mortal Kombat X Will Not Feature Keifer Sutherland, Says Ed Boon

Back in February, actor Keifer Sutherland made some interesting comments when discussing his role in Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes involving the Mortal Kombat series and him having a role in it. However, that has now been said to not be true from the man who would know such things, Ed Boon.

In that initial interview in February, Sutherland said “I did Mortal Kombat, and that’s such a huge game, but it’s so not like [MGS5].” He went on to say his time with Mortal Kombat was much quicker than Metal Gear Solid V, but never mentioned a role or anything.

This brought us to just a few minutes ago when a fan asked Ed Boon on Twitter the following “Hello Mr.Boon can you tell us a little about Kiefer Sutherland on what role he’s taking?” Boon then gave a very simple response of “He’s not in MKX.”

The question now is what does this mean? Is there another Mortal Kombat game in the works out there that we have yet to hear about that Sutherland is involved in or was he just making up stuff when he was being interviewed before? Perhaps originally Snake was going to be in the game, but the rights fell through, leading to his removal from Mortal Kombat X. There is always the chance that Boon is lying, but that seems unlikely considering it wouldn’t ruin much of a surprise since Sutherland said he was in before rather than just some random fan leak.
