Pokemon Sun and Moon were expected to be huge sellers and the predictions were right. The game’s launch in Japan is going really well.

As reported by Famitsu, Pokemon Sun and Moon sold 1,905,107 units in its first three days on sale in Japan. This figure does not include digital sales.

It has been noted that Pokemon X and Y sold slightly better at its launch with 2,096,050 units. Sun and Moon’s success is still impressive though as it’s in the top ten biggest game launches in Japan.

Nintendo anticipated sales for the game would be huge as its first shipments reached 10 million units. At least Nintendo didn’t underestimate demand for Sun and Moon or else we would have been hearing of shortages much like with the NES Classic console…

The popularity of the Pokemon brand had a huge boost thanks to the release of Pokemon Go earlier this year. Pokemon Sun and Moon’s success is good news for Nintendo as it’s good momentum for the Switch console.

It’s rumored a new Pokemon game will be out next year for the Nintendo Switch. The Switch is sure to be a popular console if a new Pokemon game is attached to it when it comes out next year.
