Shovel Knight: Specter of Torment DLC Delayed To 2017

Shovel Knight really helped to lead the resurgence of classic 8-bit platformers when it released in 2014. We got one DLC expansion already with Plague of Shadows and while the next was originally scheduled for this year, it has now been pushed to 2017.

As revealed by Yacht Club Games on their official website, the next expansion for Shovel Knight will be titled Specter of Torment, which will star Specter Knight.

This expansion was originally scheduled for sometime in late 2016, but this update also revealed that the DLC will now be coming in Spring 2017. This delay may be disappointing, but I doubt Yacht Club Games would have pushed it back if they didn’t feel it was in the best interest for the game.

The site also detailed that Specter of Torment will be longer than the previously released Plague of Shadows DLC. In addition, just like the Plague of Shadows DLC, Specter of Torment will also be free to download for those that own the game, as well as the third DLC that will be coming later as well.

It is rather impressive how Yacht Club Games keeps Shovel Knight going like this, and we can’t wait to try out the next expansion for the game when it releases in the spring.
