Stardew Valley is a farming simulation game that released on PC earlier this year, though the game quickly adopted a big following and has kept that support throughout the year. It has been many months since the game launched on PC, but next month console players will finally be able to see what all the fuss is about.
The game will be making its PlayStation 4 debut on December 13th, and its Xbox One debut on December 14th. The announcement was made on the game’s official website, though it looks like there won’t be any new content that will be releasing with the console versions.
Unfortunately for Wii U owners, that version of the game has been canceled. The developer said that “Looking at Wii U and the current gaming landscape, we made the difficult choice to shift our development efforts to creating a version for Nintendo Switch. I am really looking forward to the Switch, and I believe that the Switch’s unique capabilities could create some exciting opportunities for Stardew Valley. I do want to emphasize that I am absolutely committed to seeing Stardew Valley on Nintendo platforms, and I really do appreciate your support and understanding in this.”
Nintendo Switch will be launching in March of next year, though the developer didn’t say if the Switch version of the game would be ready around launch or later in the year.
