If you want to play Street Fighter 5 later today, well you might have to wait because the game is undergoing maintenance for several hours later today.
The official SFV server Twitter page announced: “The #SFV servers will be down for scheduled maintenance from 9AM PT to 4PM PT. Thanks for your patience and continued support.”
Street Fighter 5 will be down for 5 hours so it’s best to play something else if you are gaming around those times. Thankfully most people in North America won’t be affected as these times will be when they are at work or school.
Server maintenance has been important since the game didn’t have a smooth launch when it came out earlier this year. Not to mention people criticized the game for its lack of offline modes. Capcom has since apologized as they admitted that they underestimated the demand for single player content.
Street Fighter 5 should be getting a lot more free content later this year including a proper Story Mode in June. There will also be a lot more characters and new levels that players can obtain as well.
Update: Server maintenance has been extended by a further 2 hours. They won’t go back online until 4PM PT May 24th.
