Mass Effect 3 is Better on Xbox 360, maybe

Bioware explains how Mass Effect 3 will be better with the Kinect on the Xbox 360.

Mass Effect 3 is Better on Xbox 360, maybeA recent video has been making its rounds that touts Mass Effect 3 as "Better with Kinect".  This is no homemade video, it's a marketing video from Bioware that has somehow made it's way into a handful of popular video game forums.

As announced back at E3 2011, Mass Effect 3 will feature unique features that can be used with the Kinect motion controller.  Utlizing the voice recognition technology of the device, Mass Effect will allow players to issue battle commands, and other features that haven't been completely exposed up to this point.

Mass Effect 3 is set for a March 6th, 2011 release on Xbox 360, PS3, and PC.

    Hah good one Bacon.

BTW. Whoever has the lead console. Most likely Xbox 360 anyway, should be able to have better graphics or whatever.

it should be pc for fucks sake. thats where mass effect started. bioware seems to have abandoned the pc community just as rockstar did. the quality of the games in the industry is stagnating because of developers doing this and i see no good future to come of it.

its an mmo. ea wanted one to compete with actiblizzard.i know im sounding a bit biased but it could have been any producer.if it was possible to make mmo’s on console it probably would have been console exclusive as well.

Voice control will never be better and more accurate than a controller. Sorry but its not better with Kinect, its actually one of the worst catchphrases/slogans for a piece of technology because I have used Kinect and it doesn’t make playing games better.

and how many games have you played that use both kinect voice and controller like this? I’m thinking none

not saying this feature will be great, but I’ll hold off on judging it until I read some reviews

MS help fund the original mass effect, It came out on PC almost a year after xbox.

Not that it matters much, but it wasn’t a pc game ported to xbox and playstation, it was a console game ported to PC.

What ever, the “better with Kinect” is the Kinect marketing term for all Xbox 360 games that have Kinect features. Really there is no reason why PS3 doesn’t also have the voice command features since we have Move (PS eye has a mic too) and headsets.

But whatever, I liked ME1 on PC and loved ME2 on PS3. ME3 will be bad ass on both 360 and PS3 so I’m not really worried about anything.

I get that the playstation eye does not have the same noise canceling tech as kinect, but they still should be able to add this feature to be available on playstation with a headset.

I’m guessing microsoft threw some money in develop this feature.

“Kinect contains hardware that aids voice command interpretation. If it was to be done through a headset, the developer would have to invest a lot more in creating solid voice recognition, than is required with Kinect.”

It’s not better, just one more option to play ME3 than your standard controller.

A better would be prettier graphics, smoother performance, shorter loading times, more contents, etc.

well actually makes game smoother so you don’t have pause in middle of game to scroll through power wheel or weapon wheel. So saying it makes it quicker out the taking time just switch everything, but by saying it just makes faster and easier.

I wonder how much money Microsoft paid them to say this? Because otherwise it make us PC guys, and the PS3 guys think that our version won’t be all that great because it seems optimized for kinect. Therefore they HAD to get loads of money just to even say this publicly, because this is bad marketing for the PC and PS3 markets.

I highly doubt too many ps3 owners will be picking up a game that was originally an xbox exclusive. Especially after dismissing the first one as garbage.

That’s funny because I thought that I loved the first Mass Effect on PC and then laughed my ass off when it went Multi plat with free content on PS3 that Xbox gamers have to pay $10 more for, even though this was your exclusive and even though you are the only gamers in the entire world that have to pay for online play. Plus of course PS3 has the new graphics engine so the quality is much better too.

Thanks for starting $hit ass wipe.

ME, like many Xbox games, went over to MS other platform PC, the downfall is that the Xbox version was the only one that imported your choices into ME2. It may not seem like a big deal when you can’t use the feature, but it was.

The price for ME2 at Walmart for Xbox was $10 the week it released for PS3. So you just had to wait a year, then pay $50 more then the xbox version, and read a digital story on ME1 instead of playing and importing, yeah, heck of a deal.

With that new graphics engine came bugs, I have yet to read anything that said anything close to “much better.” Just pure marketing to sell the game and an opportunity to test the new engine, work out the bugs on PS3 owners.

Sorry, I find it funny how PS3 owners dismissed games like ME1 and Saints Row and now that those games are multi-plat they buy old MS exclusives more the Sony exclusives.

In regards to this article, ME3 will be great on any system, but this Kinect feature has already gone through some testing and considered more then gimmick, so again enjoy the version with less features.

Oh yeah! Saints Row….that was another xbox exclusive that went multi plat with free content on the PS3 version…the difference is that this time…you can’t have it!

And no, I have yet to see a $10 game for Xbox (other than from xbox live) so sorry that I will have to say a big fat BS to you on that one. And also sorry, PC is not “M$ other platform”, PC is PC and Xbox is M$. Don’t try and turn my beautiful 25 years of gaming on PC to try and make it out like it’s M$, because it’s not and it will never be.

Oh and again thanks for turning this into another flame war.

I wanted to mention that if I was in the group of gamers – the only gamers in the world that has to pay for online play then I would be really pissed if MGS4, Gran Turismo, Uncharted, inFAMOUS, Killzone, Little Big Planet, MLB the show, Rachet & Clank, Modnation, Twisted Metal, Heavy Rain, Resistance or God of War came to Xbox with FREE exclusive content I would have to pay more for on my system.

But then again Playstation is free online play so you would think the $1.5 BILLION M$ makes off xbox live would pay for that. Yet we get the free content and you don’t. Full free games, full maps, full game modes & costume packs – it’s kind of a big deal.

And yes, I did miss out on importing my charactor info into 2, but after 10 minutes..I didn’t really care any more.

Lol, if I was offered gta5 now for $60 or I could wait a year and get it for $60 with all the dlc, I’d be playing it tonight. Waiting is a price to pay, just like those that didn’t sign in to psn earlier have to wait for maintenance to finish today. Gaming time lost.

I don’t know about me2 for $10, but it was pretty cheap, the only way they could justify $60 for a game a year old was to include dlc.

You could pretty much avoid any new game and buy a special edition a year later with included dlc and claim it’s a deal.

Everyone’s different, I’d rather play now then wait on dlc and I’d rather pay $4 a month and not have deal with maintenance downtime or long downloading speeds

In regards to Endwar, from what I’ve read there’s a whole bunch of development and costs to add that feature and that’s why there are not more games with it. What Kinect does is make this processing easier and cheaper, so if this turns out to be successful, odds are more games will have this as an option. Steel Batilion will probably be next.

if you need the kinect to play me3 then that will be BS.

The voice commands are proberly optional and the novelty will rub off in a short time.

what if your playin online and ur shoutin at the kinect but you have a headset on.
