The Witcher as a franchise is one of the most loved open world fantasy RPGs there is. The first installment was released in 2007 on Windows PC and OS X, followed by The Witcher 2 : Assassins Of Kings, which saw the franchise platform base double and included its console debut as it released onto Windows PC, OS X, Linux and the Xbox 360. The third installment in the franchise, The Witcher 3 : Wild Hunt was initially scheduled for release this year but got delayed as the team at CD Projekt RED wanted to make the best possible game they could and really show off the franchises debut to this generation of consoles. Many people were upset about the delay of its release, whilst others were happy the team decided to take a more thorough approach.
The Witcher 3 : Wild Hunt boasts a map more than 30 times larger than any previous Witcher game, around 100 hours of gameplay purely from quests and over 80 types of monsters to hunt down, each with their own unique AI, special moves and traits.
Jonas Mattsson – Senior Environment Artist, Boris Pugacz-Muraszkiewics – Lead English Writer, Jakub Szamalek – Senior Writer and Karolina Kuzia – Quest Designer take us through a video about the world setting of the Witcher 3 : Wild Hunt and the forging of Geralt’s characteristics. They talk about how the setting is based in Slavic lore, what distinguishes the world of The Witcher, and how The Wild Hunt, a story of great danger weaved firmly into European Folklore, will take center stage.
The Witcher 3 : The Wild Hunt is scheduled for release on Xbox One, Playstation 4 and Windows PC on 24th February, 2015.
