Are you ready to jump in to the world of writing about games? Unless you’ve reached this page by error, that answer is probably yes. The good thing is, you’re in the right place. We are currently looking for writers of all types to join our team of contributors on Attack of the Fanboy.
Why you should write with us
An established website: Attack of the Fanboy was established in March 2010, and has been providing video game news, reviews, videos and more to our growing audience of readers on a daily basis. We have a large, passionate, and vocal following of readers who actively participate on the site in the comments section, on social media outlets, and other avenues that give your writing more exposure. Having established our footprint, our site attends industry events like E3, which gives us an inside look at the video game industry, and in-turn, enables us to write better, more informed articles for our readers. The opportunities that are available for our writers are directly tied to the level of commitment that a writer demonstrates for our site. Current and past contributors for our site have sat for interviews and previews for some of the biggest games franchises in the world. Want to see the next big game before everyone else? Write for our site, and this could be you!
Exposure: Attack of the Fanboy is also a provider of News Content for Google.com and Bing.com. What’s this mean? It means your writing gets seen by millions of readers per day, at the very top of search results pages. We also offer our readers the opportunity to claim Google Authorship for their work, so readers can put a face with your name. It’s a great way to establish your footprint as a critic, reporter, or other contributing member of our site. We’ve also got 1000′s of followers on Facebook and Twitter, and we publicize your writing via these channels.
Experience Experience is a valuable commodity. If you’re looking to become a full-time journalist or freelancer, we’ll give you a great launching pad and invaluable experience in the article creation process. We’ll teach you how to use one of the most popular publishing programs, and how to adhere to best practices for online media creation.

Ok, I’m interested. How do I start?
Well, you’re in the right place. This is the place to get started. If you would like to become a staff member, please send a brief email via the contact form below with a little about yourself. This should include any related experience that you have, and why you are looking to join our site.
Our site consists of both paid contributors and voluntary contributors. So, what’s the difference between the two? Well, obviously the paid contributors make money from our site for their writing or video contributions. So, how do you become a paid contributor? Paid contributors on our site meet a minimum monthly quota of posts, and demonstrate both a level of proficiency with the platform that we publish on, and write or create quality content.
If you see yourself only being able to write a post or two per month, you’re likely not going to end up being a good fit for a paid position on our site. We require our paid contributors to meet a monthly quota on posts, and that averages out to one post per day. This doesn’t mean you can’t scale up your writing once you’ve gotten familiar with the writing process on our site. In fact, we encourage it.
We do get a lot of inquiries about becoming a writer on our site. Because of that, we are currently placing priority consideration on those writers who are looking to publish news-oriented articles. For those that stay abreast of the latest goings on of the video game industry, this is the fast track to becoming a paid contributor on our site. We’re also placing priority consideration on paid contributors who are looking to create guides, walkthroughs, or other tips and tricks articles for recent video game releases. This is also a quick route to becoming a paid contributor on our site.
On the other hand, if you’re just looking to write the occasional opinion piece, product review, or article, we’ve got a spot for you here at AOTF as well. You’ll have access to all of the tools that our paid contributors have access to, and you’ll get some experience in creating content for the web. You’ll be able to leverage our readership and search engine placement for maximum visibility of your work. Our community will get a chance to discuss your opinions, and your content will show up on our site’s home page.
We don’t rule out the possibility of a writer becoming a paid contributor just because they are focused on a specific type of content. In fact, we have quite a few authors who publish all types of different articles on our site. If you’ve got interesting ideas, and have something to share with our community, we want to hear from you!
To get started, use the contact form below to tell us a little about yourself, any experience you might already have in creating content for the web, and why you are looking to join our site. If you already have ideas about what types of content you are looking to add to our site, and the desire to ultimately become a paid contributor, lets us know that as well. We’ll get back to you as soon as possible.
