Are you ready to jump in to the world of writing about games? Unless you’ve reached this page by error, that answer is probably yes. The good thing is, you’re in the right place. We are currently looking for writers of all types to join our team of contributors. We are looking for both paid contributors to add to our team of writers, and those that just want to write occasionally about their thoughts on games, the games industry, and any other game related topics.
Why you should write with us
An established website
Attack of the Fanboy was established in March 2010, and has been providing video game news, reviews, videos and more to our growing audience of readers on a daily basis. We have a large, passionate, and vocal following of readers who actively participate on the site in the comments section, on social media outlets, and other avenues that give your writing more exposure. Having established our footprint, our site attends industry events like E3, PAX, Gamescom, Eurogamer Expo and others, which gives us an inside look at the video game industry, and in-turn, enables us to write better, more informed articles for our readers. The opportunities that are available for our writers are directly tied to the level of commitment that a writer demonstrates for our site. Current and past contributors for our site have sat for interviews and previews for some of the biggest games franchises in the world. Want to see the next big game before everyone else? Write for our site, and this could be you!
Exposure for your writing
Attack of the Fanboy is also a provider of News Content for Google.com and Bing.com. What’s this mean? It means your writing gets seen by millions of readers per day, at the very top of search results pages. We also offer our writers the opportunity to claim Google Authorship for their work, so readers can put a face with your name. It’s a great way to establish your footprint as a critic, reporter, or other contributing member of our site. We’ve also got 1000′s of followers on Facebook and Twitter, and we publicize your writing via these channels.
Experience is a valuable commodity. If you’re looking to become a full-time journalist or freelancer, we’ll give you a great launching pad and invaluable experience in the article creation process. We’ll teach you how to use one of the most popular publishing programs, and how to adhere to best practices for online media creation.
Who we are looking for
- You are passionate about video games, and want to share that passion with the world.
- You are looking for exposure for your writing, and an opportunity to get real world experience.
- You want to be an authoritative voice within our growing community on the web.

Ok, I’m interested. How do I start?
Well, you’re in the right place. This is the place to get started. If you would like to become a staff member, please fill out the contact form below with a little about yourself, what you are interested in writing about, what types of writing your are looking to do, and how often you plan on writing.
As we mentioned at the top of this page, we are looking for both paid and voluntary contributors. If you see yourself only being able to write a post or two per month, you’re likely not a good fit for a paid position on our site. We require our paid contributors to meet a monthly quota on posts, and that averages out to one post per day. We have more details to share about the paid contributor program for those who are interested. If that’s you, and you think that you’ve got the time to dedicate, use the contact form below to express your interest in the paid position. We’ll get back to you with details about the paid writers program on our site, and what we’ll expect from you as a paid writer for our site.
On the other hand, if you’re just looking to write the occasional opinion piece, product review, or article, we’ve got a spot for you here at AOTF as well. You’ll have access to all of the tools that our paid contributors have access to, and you’ll get some experience in creating content for the web. You’ll be able to leverage our readership and search engine placement for maximum visibility of your work. If this sounds like you, use the contact form below, and let us know you are interested in becoming a voluntary contributor.
We’ll get back to you shortly with more details about getting started if we feel that you are good fit.
We’re really excited to hear from you! If you have any questions about this process, please include them in the form below.
