Battlefield 1 is set to be getting a beta soon, and as we get closer and closer we’re starting to learn more information regarding what’s in store for us. The game is expected to have a big presence at next week’s Gamescom, where we’re likely to get lots of new footage as well as more news on the beta.

However, EA has already updated the Battlefield Insider program recently, which brings a pretty big change for those who have already signed up. You’ll now find that you need to select one of the three platforms as your preferred one, as that will decide the kind of beta code that you’ll end up getting if you receive one.

We also know that the beta for the game is set to arrive shortly after the conclusion of Gamescom, and that it will include new content compared to what we have previously seen. What this new content will be is up in the air at this point, though it’s likely to be something along the lines of a new mode, map or weapons.

Battlefield 1 will launch for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC on October 21st. We were very impressed with the game when we spent some time with it earlier this year, which you can read about by clicking right here.
