Developer/publisher Nicalis has made an update on The Binding of Isaac Afterbirth†release, which brings good news to iOS owners and bad news to Vita owners. Nicalis claims that the game will be making its debut on iOS very soon, whereas the Vita version is not currently a high priority.
Studio founder Tyrone Rodriguez posted an update on the game’s Tumblr page, revealing that Apple has already approved the game and the team are just polishing everything up at this point. He also confirmed that the game will be a universal app, meaning that purchasing it will get you both the iPhone and iPad versions. An Apple TV version is also in the works, though there’s no ETA on when that may be released.
The game supports iCloud saves, so if you plan on hopping between the iPhone and iPad versions then you will be able to upload and download your progress when doing so.
The bad news for the Vita version is that the developer currently has the game as a “VERY low priority,” saying that “The optimization involved for acceptable performance is a big deal. The little Vita doesn’t like crazy weapon combos.”
Stay tuned for when we get more concrete details on release dates for each platform.
