Even though Tekken 7 is still in development, this hasn’t stopped Bandai Namco from thinking about the possibility of adding guest characters to the game.
A fan asked the game’s director, Katsuhiro Harada, on Twitter about the possibility of adding guest characters to Tekken 7. Harada answered: “It’s “if”. Tell me your idea hehe”
This isn’t a full confirmation that guest characters will be in the game, but at least Harada is somewhat open to the idea. This opened the floodgates of other fans chiming in and suggesting of potential guest characters that could be added in.
Guest characters have not really been added to the Tekken series before, but they have proved to be very popular in other fighting games. SoulCalibur IV famously added Yoda and Darth Vader while Mortal Kombat X included Jason Voorhees and Predator with possibly more coming in 2016.
If you want to see a guest character in Tekken 7, tweet to @Harada_TEKKEN. He might listen to some suggestions if they are reasonable and if a certain character gets lots of votes.
We may have to wait a while for the console version of the game to come out anyway. Harada is still updating the arcade version and is working on Pokken Tournament for the Wii U at the moment.
