With the recent slew of Halo 4 spoilers hitting the web following a leak of the game, 343 Industries is encouraging fans to go “dark” until the game’s release. The developers reaffirmed that they are working with their security team to reign in the leaks, and has been vigiliant in pulling video from YouTube and other video hosting sites.

“We have poured our blood, sweat, and tears into Halo 4, and we want you to have the best possible experience with our game, come November 6,” said the developer. “If you are interested in staying spoiler-free, we encourage you to exercise caution when visiting various websites, social networking services, and forums. Going dark is a customary pre-launch tradition for many gamers, and now may be the time to do that.”

A short while ago, reports suggested that a leak of the game originated from the factory that was producing the game for Microsoft. Shortly after, these leaked copies of the game made their way to the internet on various torrent sites. Pirates who took these copies of the game online with their Xbox 360, saw lifetime bans from Microsoft for early release play of Halo 4.
