Nintendo has now announced its new president and it is none other than Tatsumi Kimishima.

As you may have heard already, Satoru Iwata sadly passed away earlier this year leaving the job vacant. Many people speculated Shigeru Miyamoto would be the president, but now this is not the case.

Tatsumi Kimishima will be the President of Nintendo from September 16th, 2015. Nintendo aims to “strengthen and enhance the management structure” of the company following the loss of Iwata earlier this year.

It’s worth mentioning Kimishima was the Nintendo of America President between 2002 until 2006. He already held a similar position so he does have the experience for the job.

Kimishima has a hard job ahead of him as Nintendo tries to rebuild itself. The company hit it big with the original Wii, although fell short of expectations with the Wii U console.

The company will be revealing the NX console next year. It will be interesting to see if the console can become popular against the likes of the PS4 and Xbox One still hanging around.

In the same announcement, Nintendo revealed that Shigeru Miyamoto is now the “Creative Fellow” while Genyo Takeda is the “Technology Fellow”. I am not joking, these are the actual titles Nintendo wrote on its official PDF report.
