No Man’s Sky On PS4 And PC Have Different Servers

For those wanting to know, the PS4 and PC versions of No Man’s Sky are using separate servers. This means you’ll see different planet names and more.

Hello Games’ Sean Murray held an AMA on Reddit today where he answered a question about No Man’s Sky’s servers. He said: “PS4 and PC players are using two different servers. We are running a control experiment to see who names things the most juvenile things… Let the games begin!

As you might know already, players are free to explore planets and give them any name that they choose. There are already planets out there named after human’s bodily functions and more.

No Man’s Sky is out now on PS4 and will be out on August 12th for PC. As of right now, the servers for the game seem to be going smoothly. There haven’t been any reports of servers issues or anything like that.

The game however is completely playable offline so if the servers are down, this shouldn’t prevent you from playing the game entirely. No Man’s Sky isn’t meant to be a multiplayer experience because you are unlikely to encounter other players due to the size of the entire game.
