Ratchet and Clank PS4 has become the fastest selling game in the entire franchise. This is quite an achievement considering the series started way back in 2002 in the PS2 era.

Insomniac Games made the announcement on Twitter: “Thank you, Ratchet and @PlayStation fans, for making Ratchet & Clank the fastest selling game in franchise history”

Ratchet and Clank PS4 was well received when it came out earlier this month. Both fans and critics alike gave the game high praise as it’s one of the best platform games that have come out for PlayStation consoles in many years.

Insomniac Games teased that the series will continue depending on how well this game does. Since it’s the fastest selling in franchise history, it’s safe to say they are already brainstorming the next game as we speak.

The one thing that might not get a sequel is the movie based on the game. The game may have received critical acclaim, but the animated movie that it’s based on has been panned by reviewers.

Hopefully Ratchet’s popularity entices Sony to greenlight even more platform games for the PS4 in the near future. People have been hoping for reboots of Crash Bandicoot and Jak and Daxter for a long time now…
