The release of The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim Special Edition is just a couple of days away now, and if you’re planning on getting the game through Steam then we’ve got some good news for you. If you owned the previous version of Skyrim on Steam then you will be able to start downloading the game now to get ready for its release later this week.
However, the availability of this download for previous owners of the game will not be all at once, as Bethesda is currently in the process of making the download available to everyone with Skyrim: Legendary Edition. This won’t take too long, however, as they claim that they will have the game added to everyone’s library within 24 hours tops.
The bad news is that if you were hoping to check out some reviews of the game at launch then you’re likely out of luck, as the publisher has recently revealed that review codes will be going out just one day before launch. This is a stance that they have been taking for awhile now, with this year’s DOOM being a prime example. While some originally took that as them trying to cover up a bad game, this hasn’t been the case so far and they claim they want everyone (press and fans) playing the game at the same time.
The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim Special Edition will launch for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC on October 28th.
