The Uncharted series has had great success with its experimentation in different types of game modes. From its massively popular single player campaign, the series has spun off into a thoroughly enjoyable multiplayer, as well as a co-op game mode, which has seen some variation over the years. Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End will feature the now fan-favorite co-op mode, but it seems that it will arrive a bit after launch, by way of a free update.
In the Uncharted 4 multiplayer roadmap that also revealed that maps and game mode would be free, Naughty Dog showed a bunch of upcoming features for the game. One of these was the co-op gamemode that allows players to team up and take on different objectives across various maps. This feature was listed in the Autumn 2016 section, meaning fans will have to wait a good while for it to show up.
However, they can take solace in the fact that the update will be free, and should arrive in a hopefully timely manner. Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End has seen numerous delays on its way to its May 10th release on PS4. Hopefully those delays have made for a better game though, and the team now has a better grasp on how things will shape out for future content.
Of course, anything can happen on the road to Autumn 2016, but either way fans can look forward to some great new content for their Uncharted 4 multiplayer experience. Naughty Dog is promising constant updates and additional content, with new weapons, skins, boosters, and much more coming out at a regular pace. Much of this will be free content, but others can be purchased with real money. However, everything in the game can be unlocked via in-game currency, making it so there isn’t a big pay-to-win setup for the game.
