StarCraft II: Heart of the Swarm will have a bunch of new features when it arrives next month on PC and Mac. In this latest video released by Blizzard, the StarCraft II Community Manager walks newcomers through some of the new ways to play StarCraft II with the Heart of the Swarm expansion.
Blizzard has done some streamlining of the path to growing into a better StarCraft II player in Heart of the Swarm. Starting with the layout of the user interface, new players will find that by simply following the path from left to right, they’ll have some guidance in becoming better at the real time strategy title. This progresstion starts by training against A.I. bots and culminates at full out ranked matchmaking matches on the StarCraft II ladders. While all of these options were available in Wings of Liberty, the streamlining gives you a clear path to becoming a better player by starting out learning the basics before hitting the StarCraft II competitive scene.
Regardless of what type of game mode you are playing, Blizzard has also implemented a new leveling system for Heart of the Swarm. This system earns you points and unlockables within each race. The level cap across the Terran, Zerg and Protoss races is 90, with an individual cap of 30 for each race. In hitting these levels, you’ll earn portraits, decals, skins, and animations that can be used when an opponent is defeated.
StarCraft II: Heart of the Swarm launches on March 12th for PC and Mac.
