The Oculus Rift is coming.  Dev Kit units are apparently in the hands of those looking to make and modify software for use with the virtual reality hardware.  YouTube user Cymatic Bruce has a series of Oculus Rift videos where he tests out the functionality of the headset, and this latest breathes new life into the five-year old title, Mirror’s Edge.

The video gives a look at the two screens on the Oculus, but it likely does not do justice to the sensation of actually wearing the headset.

The latest update for those waiting on the Oculus Rift to arrive is that dev kits are in the hands of game developers, as well as the Oculus Rift SDK.  We’ll likely be hearing more and more software announcements as developers spend more time with the development kits.

Those looking to pre-order an Oculus Rift Development Kit can do so here, with units due to ship in June 2013.
