Will Illumiroom be a feature of the Xbox 720

The next Xbox will be revealed next month, and we’ve heard many rumors regarding to what to expect from the next-gen console from Microsoft. Rumors ranging from always-online connectivity to blocking used games have stolen most of the headlines, but one unique feature we’ve been hearing about since C.E.S. is a new technology called Illumiroom.

Microsoft has made no secrets that they are working on a technology that utilizes the Kinect to expand the gaming experience outside of the borders of your television. This new lengthy video of the technology is promising, but Microsoft has made it clear in recently released research notes, that Illumiroom is a “proof-of-concept” project at this point.

While we might not be seeing Illumiroom at launch in the next-gen Xbox, Microsoft does say they are looking into the unanswered questions of the technology.
