David Cage and the team at Quantic Dream talk about what goes into the creative process for Beyond: Two Souls to make the gameplay come to life. The creators of 2010’s Heavy Rain, have changed their approach to delivering new gameplay experiences, alongside the cinematic presentation and emotional elements that the studio is known for.

The gameplay controls are described as simple, with the player indicators consisting of only white dots. “We wanted to revisit the action system and go for something more invisible and more intuitive to the player. We didn’t want the interface to be a barrier. We wanted the player to focus on what he is doing on-screen, and not on how to do it,” explains David Cage.

This new approach is hoping to hit home with fans later this year when Beyond: Two Souls arrives exclusively for the PlayStation 3.
