Ubisoft has just released another brand new 7 minutes of gameplay footage from the upcoming Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flags. The footage is mainly focused on assassinations and stealth. It’s very interesting what they’ve changed. One particularly interesting change is with Eagle Vision and how it now tracks where enemies and targets are even if they are not in view. This is quite a different approach to previous Assassin’s Creed titles as in the past, having your target actually be in your vision was an extremely important aspect of gameplay (so as to not lose them during a pursuit for instance) and we will see if it pays dividends.

It seems Assassin’s Creed 4 is also trying to focus on stealth more by even rewarding players who remain undetected during assassination contracts and this new ability to see where your enemies are, regardless of where they are or if they are currently visible definitely does make it easier to do so.

We also get to see a glimpse of diving under water. It remains to be seen how much diving underwater to explore the seabed actually adds to the experience, but it’s certainly good to see actual footage as opposed to screens.
