GTA V will not launch with an online mode. Instead, fans will need to wait a couple of weeks for the online mode to be patched into the game. With only a week to go before GTA V hits store shelves Rockstar has opened up about the title, and specifically GTA Online in a recent interview with GameStop Magazine.
According to a recenter interview with Rockstar North president Leslie Benzies, GTA Online is the game they’ve always wanted to make, since working on GTA 3. “We’ve always wanted to create a world with the complexity of a single-player Grand Theft Auto game with the addition of real players. We wanted a world where people could spend years without getting bored of playing the same content over and over.”
If anything, GTA Online sounds ambitious. The interview revealed that there will be over 500 missions in the online mode. These missions will feature a variety of different activities and some will be a mixture of single player and cooperative tasks. In the story GTA V, Grand Theft Auto Online takes place after the events of the single player experience. This means you’ll likely be seeing some familiar faces from the campaign. There will be a number of familiar mission types in GTA Online. These include “heists, robberies, assaulting gang hideouts, hijacking armored vehicles, races” and others, as well as the recreational activities found in single player.
