The Battlefield and Call of Duty series’ have a healthy rivalry. While the competition between Battlefield 4 and Call of Duty: Ghosts has been somewhat quieter than in previous games, DICE may have taken one final shot at the Call of Duty series just ahead of the shooter’s release.

Some are thinking that the recently released Battlefield 4 Single Player Story Trailer (above) literally takes a swing at Call of Duty: Ghosts and the canine aspect of their game. Around the 1:36 mark of the video, you can see one of the main characters for the Battlefield 4 campaign take a swing on an attack dog. Is it Riley, The Call of Duty dog? Battlefield 4 fans think so.

It wouldn’t be the first time that DICE has incorporated such things in their trailers or games. The Bad Company series had direct references to Call of Duty and its lack of realism, putting the game down in a couple of different spots during dialogue sequences in the campaign.

Battlefield 4 arrives next week for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC.
