Sunset Overdrive for the Xbox One offers a new take on the apocalypse. Insomniac Games, creators of the Resistance franchise for PlayStation, have a different kind of story to tell. One that revolves around a bad batch of energy drink that turns the inhabitants of Sunset City into mutant zombies of various shapes and sizes.

Though Sunset Overdrive sounds and looks very little like other games that task players with killing zombies. Insomniac has traded in the miserable wastelands to plod through that we’ve come to associate with the scenario, for an elaborate and colorful world, built for fast-paced gameplay.

In Sunset Overdrive, Insomniacs vision is of the “awesomepocalypse”. “Traversal and gunplay are the name of the game, and you’ll be doing them simultaneously, borrowing elements from games like Prince of Persia, Tony Hawks Pro Skater, and Jet Set Radio,’ reads an updated page on the Xbox Wire. Alongside these gameplay elements, the information dump on this Xbox One exclusive reveals an expansive customization system for your character, and a crafting system for weapons and tools.
