One of the most well know elements of the Pokemon series over the years has been the exclusive Pokemon to certain versions, dating back to Pokemon Red and Blue. Of course, this was still the case with last year’s Pokemon X and Y, including Pinsir being a Pokemon X exclusive while Heracross was exclusive to Pokemon Y. However, it has now been revealed that a special Pokemon event is going to change that very soon.
Starting on August 13, gamers who own Pokemon X will be able to download Heracross, while those who own Pokemon Y will be able to download Pinsir at no cost. This promotion will run through September 17, so you will have a little over a month to download these awesome bug Pokemon.
This will be your only way to obtain these Pokemon in the respective Pokemon X and Y games unless you make a trade with a friend or online. While it is a little easier to do so these days, thanks to the implementation of online trade searching, the promotion is still a much better option.
In addition, if you visit a Gamestop starting on August 18, you will receive a Mega Stone for Pokemon X and Y that both Heracross and Pinsir can use to change into their new Mega Evolutions.
