Microsoft has just rolled out Xbox Live Labs, an optional testing program that will allow Microsoft to improve upon the Xbox Live network.  Participiating in Xbox Live Labs will net you some avatar gear.  These include a lab coat, a brain helmet, and crazy “Doc Brown style” hair.  The program which is running from March 10-27 is open to all Xbox Live members living in the United States.

To participate you’ll need to navigate to the Xbox Live Labs panel on the Xbox Live Community Channel on the dashboard.  Click on the testing app to download.  One note of caution, you won’t be able to participate in any other Xbox Live activities when testing.  This means no Gaming, Watching Movies, or Downloading Music. Microsoft also claims that the purpose is solely for testing and improving the Xbox Live service, and that any results recorded will not be used to identify you.
