Independent developer Art Craft are jumping for joy as their brand new Massively Multiplayer Online game Crowfall has been funded on Kickstarter.

After only 72 hours of the project being switched to live on Kickstarter and the initial funding goal of $800,000 has been reach. It is quite an impressive feat to raise such an amount of money on the crowd funding website but to hit the goal with 26 days remaining is a colossal achievement. Crowfall aims to seamlessly blend a MMO title with the strategy genre: utilising a mixture of these genres it sets the title apart and the potential has clearly been noticed by the gaming community.

Art Craft is a new development team founded by J Todd Coleman, known for Shadowbane and Wizard101, and Gordon Walton, known for Star Wars The Old Republic, Ultima Online and Star Wars Galaxies. Coming from a history of well-known MMOs the founders have a simple explaination for the feel of the game, “It’s like Game of Thrones meets Eve Online”.

The team has taken the time to thank those already backing them and their vision:

“This is a huge vote of confidence for our vision, and our company. We are inspired by your passion and honored by the faith that you have placed in us. We won’t let you down. We set out to find an audience to support us in creating something different, something innovative… and now we have, we are going to do exactly that. Thank you for making this happen.”

To keep pledges flooding in and to improve the game two stretch goals have been announced, the first being for the $1 million mark and the next being at $1.3 million. The first goal if reached will enable the team to add in additional content including female centaurs and the second will let the team add mounts and caravans into the base game.

Head over to their Kickstarter page to check the game out or support the ambitious project.
