The next entry in the annual Madden franchise is only a few months away with Madden 16 set to release in late August as per usual. In the past, EA Sports picked the cover athletes themselves, but in recent years have instead relied on a bracket system with fans voting on who they want to see make the cover. We learned last week who the four finalists were for the cover of Madden 16 and now the field is down to two, with the winner set to be announced tomorrow.
Remaining in the Madden 16 cover vote are superstar offensive players, one who is a veteran and one who is very new to the league. The veteran is Super Bowl champion New England Patriots star Tight End Rob Gronkowski, better known as Gronk. Definitely a very polarizing figure in the league where people either love him or hate him, he’s definitely worthy of the cover.
In comparison, the other finalist is New York Giants Wide Receiver Odell Beckham Jr., who happens to be coming off winning the offensive rookie of the year award. With a season defined by spectacular catches, including one of the greatest of all time, Beckham is a young star that also is very deserving of the title as a sign of the young talent in the NFL.
Who do you want to see grace the cover for Madden 16? Voting starts this morning at 9 am EST right here and will only be open for a short time. The winner will then be revealed later tonight at 6 pm ET during SportsCenter.
