The renowned developers over at Gearbox Software have been working hard on Battleborn since it was revealed last year at E3 2014. The details have been spilled and fans will have a lot of choice in Battleborn.

On the surface the game looks like an ordinary everyday first-person shooter. When you dive into it though, there is a more layers to it with over twenty-five different heroes (Battleborn) to choose from. Set in the distant future where Solus, the last remaining star serves as a beacon for the heroes to protect against rivaling factions and a mysterious enemy looming. There is a very heavy multiplayer focus in Battleborn it seems, but the singleplayer promises to be a narrative experience and allow five player split-screen and online co-op. There are five different factions within the game and multiplayer is 5v5.

Multiplayer will have various heroes facing off in three different modes;

Incursion: Teams of heroes must defend their base from waves of AI-controlled minions while working together alongside their own minions to destroy their opponent’s base.

Devastation: Teams of heroes face off in a fast-paced death match and must capture and hold objectives on the map to win.

Meltdown: Teams of heroes must guide their minions as they march to their death at the center of the map. Points are scored for every minion who throws themselves into the incinerator, and the team with the most points wins.

Each Hero will be able to rank up from level 1 to 10 in any given match, be it story or multiplayer so it almost plays out like a MOBA where you progress in these instances and get to see your characters full potential by the end of the match/level. Players will also have an overarching profile that they can customize and spend earned loot on their favorite characters .

Battleborn is set to release later this winter on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC. Check out the E3 2015 trailer below.
