Microsoft’s Phil Spencer revealed on Twitter earlier this week that announcements for new Xbox One backwards compatibility games will be done on a monthly basis.

A fan asked Spencer on Twitter when we will hear of the next list Xbox 360 games that will be backwards compatible with the Xbox One console.

He said: “We will announce news monthly, don’t have a specific date for each month’s list.”

It sounds like it will be monthly announcements to look forward to much like the Games with Gold lists are revealed every four weeks as well.

As of right now, only 104 Xbox 360 games work on the new console. This number will grow larger as the months go by. It’s unknown at this stage how many games will be added to the list every month. Microsoft would like to add as many 360 games as possible though.

Speaking of Xbox 360 games, Spencer is unsure of any boxing video games that are going to be Xbox One backwards compatible at this stage. He answered another fan by saying: “Don’t know of a boxing game either.”

Spencer was also answering two questions at once with that answer. He’s unsure of any new boxing video game to come out on Xbox One either. The closest thing fight fans have right now is EA’s UFC series.
