The technical specs have now been revealed for the Blu-ray release of Star Wars 7: The Force Awakens. If you plan on buying it on Blu-ray, you can read up on the ratio of the film plus the audio outputs it supports.
As seen on the Disney Store, a listing has been put up for the Blu-ray of Star Wars 7: The Force Awakens. It notes the aspect ratio, sound outputs, languages subtitles and more.
The tech specs are :Presentation: 1080p High Definition, Aspect Ratio: 2.40:1, Sound: English 7.1 DTS-HDMA / English DVS 2.0 Dolby Digital / French 5.1 Dolby Digital / Latin Spanish 5.1 Dolby Digital, Subtitles: English SDH, Latin Spanish, French-Canadian, Running Time: Approx 136 minutes, Rated: PG-13, Blu-ray: For Region A use (Americas, East and Southeast Asia, U.S. territories, Bermuda) only, DVD: For Region 1 use (US and Canada) only
If you pre-order the movie via the Disney Store before release date, you will also get “an Exclusive Lithograph set“. This Blu-ray set also includes the DVD and digital copy too. The digital copy is in HD so this allows you to watch the movie on a mobile device.
Sadly, they didn’t announce a release date for the Blu-ray of Star Wars 7: The Force Awakens yet. It just has a generic Spring 2016 release. Many people believe that it will be coming out sometime in the month of April so stay tuned for details.
