It was revealed a while ago that Target will be getting a bonus special feature for the Blu-ray version of Star Wars 7: The Force Awakens. The special feature won’t be included on the disc as it’s digital only.
A fan on Twitter (via Yakface) received an email from Target as they were informed the special feature will only be available as a digital download.
The Target email said: “In an earlier email, we informed you that the bonus content for Star Wars 7: The Force Awakens Blu-ray (Target exclusive) would be included as a bonus disc. This was incorrect. Instead, the bonus content will be available as a digital download.
The packaging for this Target-exclusive version will contain an insert with a unique code and URL for downloading the bonus content via Disney Movies Anywhere.”
The special feature is said to be 20 minutes long, although it hasn’t been specified what it is yet. Whatever it is, it’s something only Target retailers are offering.
Best Buy is offering something different which is a steelbook cover featuring Kylo Ren. Most other retailers (including worldwide) are just offering the standard version of the Blu-ray only. The Blu-ray will be out in North America on April 5th, 2016.
