How The Ending Of Suicide Squad Leads Into Future DC Films (Spoilers)

Suicide Squad’s ending has a few teases for at least two future films that DC is making in the future. These small teases are sure to get fans excited.

Bear in mind, spoilers for Suicide Squad will be discussed in this post. If you have not seen the movie yet, click away now. If you have seen it or don’t care about spoilers, then you can read on if you want to.

Spoilers: Anyway, Suicide Squad is basically a film where Amanda Waller is a government official that needs to assemble a black ops team in order to take down a supernatural threat. After the “demise” of Superman in Batman vs Superman, the Suicide Squad is assembled to take down the “Enchantress”.

The Enchantress pretty much hates humanity and wants to cleanse the world of humans along with her brother. She takes over the body of June Moone who is an archaeologist.

At the end of the film, the team is able to take her down via a bomb. Poor old El Diablo sacrifices himself in order to kill off her brother while it was a team effort in order to destroy the “Enchantress”. Luckily June Moone survives and is free of the Enchantress. She can now live as a normal human being with Rick Flagg who is her boyfriend.

Sadly, the surviving members of the Suicide Squad all have to go back to prison even though they saved the world. This includes Deadshot, Harley Quinn, Killer Croc and Boomerang. The only “rewards” they get are 10 years off their prison sentence.

Deadshot gets an opportunity to see his daughter again, Killer Croc gets a TV in his cell and Harley Quinn has an espresso machine installed. How about the Joker? The Joker was thought to have died in a helicopter crash, earlier in the film but he survived.

Before the mid-credits scene, the last scene in the main film is the Joker breaking out Harley Quinn in prison. The two psychopaths have been reunited. This could mean they might feature in Ben Affleck’s “The Batman” film. Whenever Joker and Harley Quinn are on the loose, you can be sure that Batman has to get them back in prison.

Speaking of Batman, the mid-credits scene directly leads into the Justice League movie. Bruce Wayne is kind of unhappy that super-villains needed to save the day. He’s in a meeting with Amanda Waller and Waller tells him to keep it under wraps.

Waller then gives Wayne some classified intel on both the Flash and Aquaman. Wayne tells Waller that his friends will be able to handle the next threat so she won’t need the Suicide Squad again. This is of course Wayne referring to the Justice League.

There you have it. Aside from Joker and Harley Quinn, the rest of the Suicide Squad members are in jail. It appears they won’t be needed as the Justice League will handle supernatural threats from now on. It will be interesting to see how a sequel to the movie is made if their services are no longer required.
