Young Justice debuted back in 2010 on Cartoon Network and became a critical hit among DC Comics fans for its strongly written characters and story arcs, but sadly the show was cancelled after being strung around in the schedule in spring of 2013. Fans have been pushing for the series to be revived ever since, including a huge push earlier this year when the second season hit Netflix, and now our wishes have been answered as the show is officially coming back with a third season.
Warner Bros. and DC Comics officially announced last night that a third season of Young Justice was entering production that would be a continuation of the first two seasons alongside the poster that you can see to your right.. No network or air date was revealed, but they said that information will come later.
The assumption would likely be that this would be airing on Netflix with all of the success that the first two seasons had with streaming on there. However, that is something we’ll just have to wait to see.
Making this announcement even better, it was revealed that producers Brandon Vietti and Greg Weisman will both be both returning to the series, so there should be no worries about the quality dropping at all with these two overseeing the show once again.
As someone who thought the first two seasons made up one of the best animated series of all time, I am ecstatic by this news and absolutely cannot wait for more information. With the way that the second season ended, the fans deserved some sort of continuation of that and thankfully we are getting it.
