The Call of Duty franchise is losing no steam according to recent comments made by both retailers in the UK and United States regarding pre-order numbers for Modern Warfare 3.  Two of the biggest video games retailers in the world have confirmed that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is outpacing Black Ops by a significant margin when it comes to pre-orders.  UK games retailer, GAME, claims that Modern Warfare 3 has seen a  “significant” increase from the numbers that Call of Duty: Black Ops had achieved about a year ago.
Furthermore, here in the United States, Gamestop is also seeing the same trend developing for the game. Â Bob McKenzie of the company recently confirmed this data.
“Last year, Call of Duty: Black Ops became the most pre-ordered title in our history,” Bob McKenzie, senior vice president of merchandising at GameStop told Gamepro. “Already, this year, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is significantly ahead of that pace. Our customers’ response to the reveal of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 has been amazing.”
It appears that the franchise is still picking up steam. Â Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is set to release this November 8th for the PC, PS3, and Xbox 360, alongside the new Call of Duty: Elite service.
