In the latest developer series of videos for Max Payne 3, Rockstar introduces the unique way that animations were handled in the development of the upcoming shooter. As explained in the video, one of Rockstar’s hurdles when making Max Payne 3 was to maintain the traditional third person gameplay style, and at the same time implementing the sensibilities of a first person shooter.

Judging from the video, it looks like the gunplay in Max Payne 3 is of the more fluid from Rockstar games. The developer also covers animations and the other nuances that were taken into consideration during the development of the game.

Max Payne 3 was recently delayed, and will be arriving on Xbox 360, PS3, and PC in May.
